I’m still here

Hi there!

You may have noticed that site updates have somehow slowed down even further, which is saying something because I was already posting maybe once or twice a year at most. At least I’ve kept the YouTube channel going with LPs.

I have not forgotten about 3VG (which probably needs yet another name change at some point since that name is no longer relevant to anything – it was supposed to semi-officially tie in with a company I was running with some friends at the time, but that didn’t work out and we went our separate ways after a few years) and have been updating older articles with new info, jokes, or corrections semi-frequently, but I’ve been too busy to actually put a new long-form article together. I do have plenty of ideas, just not enough hours in the day because these posts take a lot of time to write (especially now that I’m trying to be all professional and comprehensive and that sort of thing, as you may have noticed from the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 writeup).

I have been working on a RoboCop: Rogue City article for a while now. That game was a pleasant surprise and perhaps the most fun I had with any game in 2023, so I want to do something with it at some point. I mean, just look at this screenshot:

However, because I am me, I am also taking a look at many of the earlier RoboCop games. Not in any great detail, but enough to require a bunch of screenshots from various formats. That isn’t a huge undertaking by any means once I get all the emulators set up (or just take some screengrabs from YouTube videos, naturally with full credit), but I have very little free time nowadays and I am also a lazy bum, so I’ve been dragging my feet.

Currently, I’m also in the middle of moving to a new apartment, which limits my free time even more. I was finally able to scrounge up enough savings to leave this miserable hovel and move somewhere I actually want to live. Sure, the rent is twice as expensive, but at least the entire building isn’t full of mold and bugs and asbestos, there is some degree of soundproofing, the apartment has ACTUAL AIR CONDITIONING (which doesn’t sound so special, but finding a rental apartment with proper A/C in Finland is like finding a unicorn) and I’ll probably be less likely to get robbed and/or stabbed. An upgrade across the board, really. So, now I’m busy packing up my games and consoles and all that important stuff.

That’s all from me right now, but hopefully I’ll be able to finish the RoboCop writeup once things calm down slightly. Or maybe I’ll come up with something completely different, you never know with this ADHD brain of mine.
